This year's theme is Safe and Healthy Communities.

Workshop topics include, but are not limited to:

Politics, Advocacy and Culture: Addresses current advocacy campaigns, examines political and cultural trends and the place of walking and bicycling in California and the United States, analyzes the legal and societal standing of pedestrians and bicyclists and attitudes about individuals with disabilities.

Education and Outreach Programs: Addresses youth, adult or elderly bicycle or pedestrian education, physical activity promotion, motorist education and safe routes to school and safe routes for seniors programs.

Facilities: Addresses pedestrian and bicycle planning, design and implementation issues at intersections and along roadways, innovative plans or projects, accessible designs/universal access, innovative trail design and implementation factors, safe routes to school, safe routes to transit, safe routes for seniors, traffic calming and community-based planning.
