if you were to publish an edgy, intelligent urban magazine what would you want to see in it? do you think there is a need for such a magazine on a national level?

    what's the focus?
    design?
    food?
    fashion?
    environment?
    politics?
    entertainment?
    all of the above?

there a lot of them already out there. some even focus on their particular city or state.

to answer more specifically, and to keep this on-topic, so to speak, i've recently appreciated the magazine Plenty, which has a great Green focus, but i think that there's room for a publication that brings those issues to bear for an urban audience - translating sustainable principles and ethical consumerism to the peculiarities of urban living (indoor composting, anyone? community gardens? buying products that support fast-paced lifestyles without violating principles?)

some yoga-oriented publications cover this ground a little bit, but i think that there's room for more specific coverage...

I managed to get bounced by Tribe for a short while, so sorry about the delay in responding ...

Yes, an emphais on sustainability both in the sense of green/eco and longevity, e.g., in regard to whatever we might hype. The number one item in our query has been the need for an urban magazine that is Green. On another front I have been doing a bit of work on zoning & form-based codes and urban farming (agriculturally and husbandry) ... I think this would make a great article to feature in the premier edition, if and when, such a magazine is ever published.

So much of the Green stuff is about "back to the land", but something that put in context how much more sustainable -- in the big picture -- you can be with dense, urban living, plus tools for creating urban community, etc. would be enormously valuable.
